Proposed Veterans Affairs Rule

Proposed Veterans Affairs Rule

Earlier this year the Department of Veterans Affairs proposed a new regulation that will drastically effect the ability for veterans and widowed spouses of veterans to obtain pension benefits to help pay for home health care, assisted living and nursing home care. As the proposed rule is not yet law, it is very important to raise your concerns regarding this proposal. Many of the provisions will unfairly penalize those who wish to apply for this important benefit. I have attached an article from David Goldfarb, the Public Policy Manager for the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, which itemizes several of the issues with the proposed rule. Be sure to raise your objections to this proposal by leaving a comment on Regulations.gov
